Family Outing (2011)

I was driving westbound on Delancey St. near the Williamsburgh Bridge. My windshield wipers were going furiously to ward off the rain.  As I cruised past Allen St, I noticed on my left the blurry image of a man and a couple of kids darting across the street against the light.  When they ran behind my car, I looked in my rearview mirror, and this is what I saw. It seemed so perilously close, I turned away expecting the worst. But I didn’t hear the slamming of brakes or screams of horror, so I assume they made it across safely.
